“Understanding Sam and Asperger Syndrome”

April is Autism Awareness Month! Here at The Listening Centre, we like a book called “Understanding Sam and Asperger Syndrome” by Clarabelle van Niekerk and Liezl Venter. Sam is a boy with behaviours common among children with Asperger Syndrome. When Sam is diagnosed, his life becomes easier with the right kinds of support. The book also provides helpful advice on accepting and respecting differences for children interacting with someone like Sam in a classroom or in a friendship. Highly recommended!
