Parents of children who will be starting nursery school or kindergarten this coming fall are likely in the midst of registering them for this new step in life. Some parents may be concerned that their children aren't ready yet. Here at The Listening Centre, we help children at very young ages. Here is V's story:
When V started at the Listening Centre at only 2 years old, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I wasn’t sure if she would stay engaged for a full session, let alone wear headphones for such a long period of time! She had delays in her language and speech, in addition to gross motor development. Over the past two years, with the help of the program at the Listening Centre, her overall development, but in particular her language has blossomed. She has come so far, and she continues to develop and expand her vocabulary every day. It continues to be a work in progress and the Listening Centre is part of her learning and development.
It is clear that each session is a “brain workout”, based on how well she sleeps afterward! It has been a wonderful experience watching this funny, caring, and bubbly personality grow from the quiet toddler she used to be. The staff at the Listening Centre create a warm, inclusive, and fun environment, and V is always excited for her time there. A huge thank you to Paul and his team for providing his incredible expertise and comforting demeanour in what was a highly stressful time for us at the outset of our time together - I grappled with the concerns of any new mother encountering the unknown for her child. I recommend this program for anyone interested in helping a child develop in a safe and effective world class learning environment. Thank you for all of the amazing work you do!
